This week will be our last full week of training before the opens and will be treated as a trial week. The 1st Opens workout will be released on March 6 at 5pm and will hit our shores at 12pm on Thursday. CrossFit St Mary's will be keeping the tradition of performing the workout on Friday nights with a No Beers, Bread or BBQ sauce meal afterwards. This is a great opportunity for athletes to learn about paleo foods and zone quantities. I will post more details about the BBQ next week but for now let's talk about training this week and for the following 5 weeks during the opens.
Monday through Wednesday-Normal Programming and training
Thursday-As the first opens workout is released at 12pm next thursday i will be releasing a workout for this friday night on thursday. We are treating this week as a trial week. In doing this, it will give us a great opportunity to practice strategizing and preparing for workouts. Browney will also be focusing on judging and will run through the standards of movements for the workout and how to tell the difference of good reps and no-reps, where to stand as a judge and answer any question you might have. If you have never judged at a games day before then this is a must to attend. This session will run from 7-8pm
Friday-Game Night. These are most often the most exciting training nights of the year. PB's come from everywhere and the effort that athletes put in is a step up from regular training. I get excited thinking about it. This friday night, although just a trial, will be run exactly how it will be run next friday. We will have an opens style workout which will be judged and scored followed by a no beers, bread or BBQ sauce meal/information session with Mel afterwards. Bring along something paleo to snack on/share while we have a chat. There will be no BBQ this week so if you bring meats make sure they are pre-cooked.
Saturday-There will be no catch up session.

ReplyDeleteWOD - Completed full three rounds, just finished changing weights over for the 50kg but timed out. All good with result. Mean sesh!
ReplyDeleteround 4 got 3 cleans out but I did it with scaled weight got up to 35kg which is a pb but doesnt really count towards games come on little muscles get stronger....
