800m Runs & OHS

Beginner/Intermediate

(A) SKILL WORK CLIMBING ROPES & GYMNASTICS

(B) Individually Run 800m 30 OHS RUN 800m

Focus-Run to a pace that allows you to start Overhead squats immediately when you return. OHS need to be performed in no more then 2 sets. Aim to run a faster 2nd 800m then your first.

Advanced

(A) Accumulate 100reps of gymnastics movements. Focus on unbroken reps

(B) Teams of 2 Run 800m in Sub 3min then 2 attempts each at max OHS 60/43kg and finish with RUN 800m in sub 3min

Focus-Aim for at least a sub run from 1 athlete at the start and at the finish. Max OHS, exactly as it says.

Athlete A & B run together. When Athlete A returns from the run they are 2nd on the bar. Athlete B must start their OHS immediately when they return from the run and perform max reps. When athlete B finishes OHS Athlete A begins, this pattern continues until both athletes have completed 2 attempts each. Both Athletes then start 2nd 800m Run.

  1. 100 gymnastic movements. Most consecutive reps were gained with handstand walks.
    3x 800m run with rookie. 2.49, 2.53, 2.57.

  2. Didn't really count my Gymnastic Reps, but practiced HSPU, Concecutive MU, pistols, Hand Stand walks.

    Did some work on push ups, ring dips, and a bit of mobility work.

    WOD - Teams of 2
    800m Run (collective)
    60 OHS (collectively partition)
    800m Row (collective)

    Partitioned it with Nathan:
    400m run - N
    200m run - Me
    200m run - N

    20 - 7 - 15 - 9 (Me)
    10 - 13 - 6 (Nathan)

    300m row - N
    500m row - Me

    Worked well for us, recognised and worked with each others strengths (my rowing, Nathan's running), and weaknesses (my running, Nath's rowing)
